Internship program at Irfan Mir Halepota & Associates

We take on a small number of law students and recent graduates each term to work directly alongside our litigation and corporate teams — drafting, court filing, legal research, and client-facing preparation. It's built to teach the procedural discipline that separates a working lawyer from a law-school graduate, not to be a resume line.

What interns actually do

  • Assist in drafting pleadings, applications and legal opinions under an advocate's supervision
  • Conduct case-law and statutory research for active matters
  • Attend court hearings and client meetings alongside senior counsel
  • Help prepare case files, bundles and evidence for trial and appeal
  • Get exposure across multiple practice areas rather than being confined to one

Who we're looking for

  • Currently enrolled law students (any year) or recent LL.B graduates
  • Based in or able to work from Karachi for the duration of the internship
  • Comfortable with legal research and formal written English/Urdu drafting
  • Available for the internship's full duration — we prioritise consistency over prior experience

Program details

[Firm to confirm before publishing: internship duration (e.g. 6–8 weeks), whether it's paid or unpaid, current intake dates, and number of positions available this term.]

Interns are paired with a supervising advocate for the full term and are expected to work chambers hours, Monday–Saturday.

How to apply

Send the following to [email protected] with the subject line "Internship Application":

  • A current CV
  • A short cover note — a few sentences on which areas of practice interest you and why
  • Your academic transcript or a summary of your standing, if available
  • Your availability (start date and how many weeks you can commit to)

We review applications on a rolling basis and reply directly — there's no automated portal, so expect a personal response rather than a form rejection.

Questions before applying?

If you're not sure whether the current intake fits your schedule, ask before applying rather than after.
