No — Hindu couples are governed by the Hindu Marriage Act, and Christian couples primarily by the Divorce Act and related Christian personal law, not the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance. Grounds for divorce, procedure, and inheritance shares all differ from Muslim personal law, which is why minority clients need counsel specifically familiar with their applicable law.

Which law applies to a Hindu marriage in Pakistan?
The Hindu Marriage Act, 2017 provides for the solemnisation and registration of Hindu marriages in Pakistan and for their dissolution. The Muslim Family Laws Ordinance, 1961 does not apply. Registration is effected through a Shadi Parat, which is the Hindu equivalent of the Nikah Nama for evidentiary purposes.
